CHIGOZIE ATUANYA'S 'CHETANNA' WINS BEST INDIGENOUS FILM AT GIAMA AWARDS

Chigozie Atuanya's Igbo language movie, Chetanna, won the award for Best Indigenous Film at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (GIAMA), which took place last Saturday (October 25), in Houston. The movie made history earlier this year, when it became the first Igbo language movie to be premiered in the United States. It was premiered on July 25 at the Igbo World Festival of Arts and Culture, which was held at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, Virginia.

Nollywood actor, Chigozie Atuanya, is currently in Virginia, USA, for the world premiere of the Igbo language movie, Chetanna, which he produced. The movie, which is subtitled in English, will be premiered at the World Igbo Festival of Arts and Culture, which starts in Staunton, Virginia, on July 24. The movie will also be premiered in Lagos, Awka, Aba, and Umuahia, subsequently. Chetanna stars Queen Nwokoye, Ebube Nwagbo, Ebele Okaro, and Chigozie Atuanya himself. The movie tells the story of Emeka (Chigozie Atuanya) who comes from America for a business meeting. The movie will be premiered at the Igbo World Festival of Arts and Culture in in Virginia on July 24. After the Virginia premiere, it will then the premiered in Nigeria.
