CHIGOZIE ATUANYA'S 'CHETANNA' WINS BEST INDIGENOUS FILM AT GIAMA AWARDS
Chigozie Atuanya's Igbo language movie, Chetanna, won the award for Best Indigenous Film at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (GIAMA), which took place last Saturday (October 25), in Houston. The movie made history earlier this year, when it became the first Igbo language movie to be premiered in the United States. It was premiered on July 25 at the Igbo World Festival of Arts and Culture, which was held at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, Virginia.
