The premiere of the movie, The Betrayed, was held in Lagos on Wednesday (August 1, 2024) at Filmhouse IMAX in Lekki. Some of those in attendance were Gabriel Afolayan, Uche Montana, Ibrahim Suleiman, Jemima Osunde, Daniel Etim Effiong, Zulumoke Oyibo, and Naz Onuzo 

"The Betrayed" Starring Uche Montana and Gabriel Afolayan Gets August Release Date

The Betrayed, a film starring Uche Montana and Gabriel Afolayan will open in cinemas nationwide on August 2nd, 2024. The film is the directorial debut of Zulumoke Oyibo, cofounder of Inkblot Productions, which has been responsible for hits such as The Wedding Party and New Money. The Betrayed also stars Ibrahim Suleiman, Jemima Osunde, Vine Olugu, and Adunni Ade. 

Bolanle Austen Peters' "House of Gaa" Coming To Netflix July 26

The much anticipated period drama, House of Ga'a, directed by acclaimed filmmaker, Bolanle Austen-Peters (Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Collision, Man of God), will be released July 26 on Netflix. There is even more excitement about this movie, following the critical and commercial success of Funmilayo Ransome Kuti - the last film released by Bolanle Austen Peters.

GABRIEL AFOLAYAN RELEASES VIDEO FOR KOKORO IFE

Gabriel Afolayan is one of the most talented young actors in the industry today. This was recently confirmed when he won two awards at the Nollywood Movies Awards, and one, at the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards. At the Nollywood Movies Awards, which was held on June 2, he won the Rising Star award, as well as the award for Best Supporting Actor, for his role in the movie, Ghetto Dreamz. One day later, he won the award for Most Promising Actor at the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards.

After a gruelling selection process, upcoming artiste Trybson Dudukoko was selected to play the role of DAGRIN in the movie. Nollywood actress Simeon Ademinokan has also been cast in the role of DAGRIN's girlfriend. Also to appear in the movie are Rachel Oniga, Gabriel Afolayan, Pa Kasumu, Kenny St. Brown, Jaywon, and Oyinda Odesola. The movie is being directed by Michael Ademinokan (Guilty Pleasures).The movie is being produced by head honcho of Stingomania records Ope "The Coach" Banwo. Since shooting began, the movie set has seen visits by DAGRIN's father, DAGRIN's mother, Dele Momodu, Kenny St. Brown, and Jaywon.

AREMU AFOLAYAN RETURNS FROM DUBAI - COMPLETES FILM

Aremu Afolayan, actor and son of the late doyen of the Nigerian film industry, Aderemi Afolayan (Ade Love), has just breezed in from Dubai. Apparently he was in Dubai, to put finishing touches to his upcoming movie Ina Fitila (The Cryptic Lamp). He started working on the movie last year, and he was in Dubai to finish the production of the movie. Apparently Aremu not only inherited his father's good looks, but also his creative talent. The handsome thespian reportedly acquired a BMW 7 series car with the vanity plates OMO AREMU. Hmm, things seem to be looking up for this young man.
