OBI EMELONYE RELEASED AFTER ARREST

Award-winning Nollywood director, Obi Emelonye (Mirror Boy, Last Flight to Abuja), has now been released, after he was arrested on Monday, while taking aerial shots of Ikeja are of Lagos with drone cameras. According to the director, he was released by members of the Lagos state governor's security detail, who presumably arrested him. He was arrested along with members of his team from the UK. According to the director, the ordeal greatly embarassed him before his guests from the UK.

NOLLYWOOD DIRECTOR, OBI EMELONYE ARRESTED!

Award-winning film director, Obi Emelonye (Mirror Boy, Last Flight to Abuja), has been arrested for taking aerial shots of the Ikeja area of Lagos, using drone cameras. The actor made this known via a Facebook post on Monday evening, probably as he was being taken into custody. According to him, he was arrested along with his team by officials of Lagos TV. Camera drones are a relatively cheap way for filmmakers to take aerial shots. There are various models available, some going for as low as $1,000 (N160,000). Below is the full text of his post:

Award-winning director, Obi Emelonye, turned 47 on March 27, while shooting a new movie. The cast and crew of of the movie surprised him by presenting him with a cake, which was shared by the whole team. Afterwards, Ramsey Nouah and Gabazinni showered the director with Bacardi!
