BABA SUWE HEADS TO SUPREME COURT

Popular actor, Babatunde Omidina (aka Baba Suwe) is heading to the Supreme Court in a bid to claim N25 million in damages awarded to him by a Lagos High Court in 2011. The amount was awarded to him following a suit he filed against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, after he was detained by the agency for 23 days on suspicion of attempting to traffic hard drugs. He was released by the agency after no drugs were found on him.

COURT DENIES BABA SUWE N25M COMPENSATION

The Court of Appeal, Lagos, last Friday (May 31), ruled in favour of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in a case brought before it, challenging the award of N25m in damages to Nollywood actor, Babatunde Omidina (Baba Suwe), by a Lagos high court. The NDLEA detained the actor for 23 days in 2011, on suspicion of ingesting and attempting to traffic hard drugs.

COURT GRANTS BABA SUWE BAIL, IF …

Actor and comedian, Babatunde Omidina (aka Baba Suwe), who was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of hard drugs, was today (November 1, 2011) granted bail at a high court in Lagos (Nigeria). The presiding judge, Yetunde Idowu, granted the actor bail, on the condition that no drugs are found in his system by Friday (Nov. 4).
