BABA SUWE HEADS TO SUPREME COURT

Popular actor, Babatunde Omidina (aka Baba Suwe) is heading to the Supreme Court in a bid to claim N25 million in damages awarded to him by a Lagos High Court in 2011. The amount was awarded to him following a suit he filed against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, after he was detained by the agency for 23 days on suspicion of attempting to traffic hard drugs. He was released by the agency after no drugs were found on him.

On May 31, 2013, the Lagos Court of Appeal overturned the 2011 high court ruling which awarded him the N25 million compensation. However, his lawyer, Bamidele Aturu has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court against the ruling of the Lagos Court of Appeal.
