Banky W, Kanayo O. Kanayo, and Hilda Dokubo, star in the movie, UP NORTH, which will be released in cinemas across Nigeria on December 28. The movie was directed by Nigerian filmmaker, Tope Oshin (Fifty, Journey To Self). Also in the movie are Rahama Sadau, Adesua Etomi, Ibrahim Suleiman, and Michelle Dede. UP NORTH is a production of Anakle Films and Inkblot Productions.
Storyline
The heir to a construction empire is brought back from America to begin preparations for leadership of the family business. However, the boy, a rebel, defies the family. To punish him, the family sends him to NYSC camp in Bauchi. As an act of rebellion, the boy decides to stay back in Bauchi. While in Bauchi, he discovers the beauty of the place and community, and decides to stay back and help a group of young girls with athletic talent win a track tournament and improve their lives. He also finds personal redemption and fulfillment along the way.
