Primitive is a period drama shot in the second quarter of 2015. It was directed by Iyke Odife (Burning Tears, Beauty and the Beast), and it stars Chioma Akpotha, Nnenna Nwabueze, Diamond Okechi, Mike Odiachi, Toni Frederick Okoli, and Kyrian Ekwenze. Primitive is set in 1913, in Abame, a community in the eastern part of Nigeria. The film is about the resistance of the people of Abame to the advent of Christianity, and the ensuing clash (physical and supernatural) between the people of the community and the colonial authorities.
