Nollywood legend, Richard Mofe-Damijo, attended the recently held, AfricaMagic Viewers' Choice Awards. It was a triumphant outing for the veteran actor, even though he did not win in the Best Supporting Actor category, in which he was nominated. It was clear at the event that he had inspired a whole generation of younger actors as they paid tribute to him, on and off camera. Desmond Elliott, Femi Jacobs, and Blossom Chukwujekwu in particular acknowledged that he had been an inspiration for them.
Desmond Elliott publicly acknowledged that RMD has been his mentor in the industry. Blossom Chukwujekwu who bested RMD to win Best Supporting Actor, publicly knelt down for the veteran actor before going to the stage to receive his award. All in all it was a night of honour for the great actor.
