RMD IS 50!

Today is the birthday of actor extraordinaire, sex symbol, and screen legend Richard Mofe-Damijo. RMD as he is popularly known, is a superstar of the Nigerian film industry. He first graced our screens in the 80's, when he featured in soap operas such as SPACS, Ripples, and Checkmate.
Tall, dark, handsome, well-built, articulate, charismatic, talented, and impeccably groomed, it was impossible not to love him.

He featured in some of the most memorable early Nollywood movies. Many of the movies, which he featured in, are today regarded as classics. These include, Violated, Keeping Faith, Diamond Ring, and Out of bounds.

To the dissapointment of many of his fans, he left acting for politics, when he joined the government of Delta State in Nigeria as The Special Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment and Talent Development. In January 2009, he was appointed Commissioner for Culture and Tourism for Delta State - a position, which he still holds.

However, he recently made a return to the screen by joining the cast of the MNet soap opera, Tinsel, even while retaining his appointment as a commissioner. We say happy birthday to this consumate actor, and talented thespian. Please leave birthday messages for the one and only RMD as he celebrates his birthday.
