Nollywood megastars, Ramsey Noah and Funke Akindele were simply dazzling at the Celebrity Casino Learners Night, which was held at the Federal Palace Hotel on Thursday, June 16, 2011. The event also doubled as a party for nominees for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards.
The event was jointly hosted by the producers of the NEA and Federal Palace Hotel.Ramsey looked suave and cool as always. He wore a white tuxedo over a black shirt, and blue jeans. Funke Akindele stepped up her game for the evening as she appeared in a classy, well-fitted, white strapless dress.
The event was a glamorous and glitzy affair that attracted celebrities from across the broad spectrum of Nigerian entertainment. Some of the other celebs who attended the event were Banky W, MI, Eldee, Sound Sultan, Ice Prince, Brymo, Wizkid, Ali Baba, Tee A, Frank Edoho, Kenny Ogungbe, Fiona Amuzie, Munachi Abii, Toni Payne, and Zara.

At the event, ace comedian Julius Agwu was unveiled as the host for the 2011 edition of the awards. Also announced was the shortlist of top ten entertainers for 2010. This list included 3 Nollywood actors, namely Ramsey Noah, Funke Akindele, and Uche Jombo. Others who made the list, are Banky W, Julius Agwu, eLDee, Tee A, Kenny Ogungbe, Kiki Kamanu, and M.I. Federal Palace Hotel offered all entertainers who made the shortlist complementary rooms for the night.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Producer of the show, Tope Esan, said the awards recognise mainstream Nigerian talent, the only difference being that it is held in the United States. Speaking further, he said that the reason the awards are held in the US is because just as Nigerians at home want to see their entertainment stars, there is a huge population of Nigerians in the diaspora who want to see them also. He said NEA has set up a platform for Africans in the US to see their favorite stars.

The GM of the Federal Palace Hotel, Mr. David Kliegl expressed delight at the event. He said that the event served as a means of showcasing the casino of the Federal Palace Hotel. According to him, the collaboration of Federal Palace Hotel with NEA enhanced the success of the maiden edition of the Casino Learner's Night.
The Nigeria Entertainment awards will hold September 2 - 5, 2011 at Sharp Theatre, Symphony Space, New York. Voting in the awards is open to members of the public, and has commenced at
