Imperial Hotel (Ebute Meta, Lagos) which Funke "Jenifa" Akindele is using as one of the locations for Omo Ghetto II, was this morning attacked by armed robbers. According to reports, all lodgers in the hotel were robbed, including Funke, her brother, her cousin, and some close friends. The robbers reportedly, dispossessed Funke of as much as six hundred thousand naira ($4000), while they also vandalized a Range Rover belonging to Funke's marketer, Funke's X Terra and her mother's CRV. Funke has confirmed that she is alright, in spite of the attack. More details to come.

ReplyDeleteMuch as i am happy for her survival,i think it is high time movie makers take personal security seriously and why on earth must they use such cheap hotels to lodge stars despite all the money they have. Imperial Hotel is not a secured hotel for such caliber of stars.

ReplyDeletePs. Actually, we do not respect stars abroad, they hire something called security/bouncers, or else they get caught slipping and get robbed as many have already. It's as simple as that. Glad ur safe, but to be carrying $4k around like its nothing is kinda asking for it. DC, NY, LA,London or Lagos, thugs are thugs.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry dear Funke, 2 months ago i was telling my friend from another country, to come to nigeria with me she said no that she is scared, after 3 to 5 mins while we where still talking my brother called me true her number from nigeria, telling her to tell me that my mother was attacked my robbers they took all her money and so..i was so ashamed of myself. we nigerians want always quick money..Funke u will keep on growing in the front of this people.
