IKE NNAEBUE'S 'FALSE' TOPS NMA 2014 NOMINATION LIST

Ike Nnaebue’s movie, False, topped the recently released nomination list for Nollywood Movies Awards (NMA) 2014, with eleven nominations. The movie, which was written and directed by Ike Nnaebue, features great acting by Uche Jombo, Kate Henshaw, Kalu Ikeagwu and Oma Iyasara. In 2013, False received three nominations at Houston-based Golden Icons Academy Awards (GIAMA), and Kate Henshaw won Best Supporting Actress at GIAMA 2013 for her performance in False. Meanwhile, Ike Nnaebue's new movie, The Other Side, will be premiered in Houston, Texas, on October 26, 2014. The Other Side was filmed entirely in Houston, and it features Uche Jombo, Chet Anekwe, and Dtymi Ngozi Ibe. Following are the nominations which False received at NMA 2014:

THE MEETING WINS BIG AT NOLLYWOOD MOVIES AWARDS

The romantic drama, The Meeting, was one of the big winners at the second edition of the Nollywood Movies Awards, which took place yesterday (October 12) at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The movie was nominated in 11 categories, and won in 3. Star actress, Rita Dominic won the coveted award for Best Lead Actress, for her role as Clara Ikemba in The Meeting. Mildred Okwo won the award for Best Director for The Meeting, and Jennifer Alegieuno won the award for Best Makeup for The Meeting. The movie is currently available online at - The Meeting >>> Distrify. It is expected to be released on DVD before the end of 2013.

RITA DOMINIC WINS BEST ACTRESS - AGAIN

Nollwood star, Rita Dominic, has won the award for Best Lead Actress at the second edition of the Nollywood Movies Awards, which took place on Saturday (October 12) at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. She won the award for her role as Clara Ikemba in the movie, The Meeting. The actress bested Uche Jombo (Mrs. Somebody), Mercy Johnson (Dumebi), Bimbo Akintola (HoodRush), Funke Akindele (MAAMi), and Nse Ikpe-Etim (Mr. & Mrs.), to pick the award. The actress also won Best Actress at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, last September, for the same movie.
