SPOTTED: LONZO NZEKWE AND UDOKA OYEKA AT CANNES

Film directors, Lonzo Nzekwe, and Udoka Oyeka, are currently in France, attending the Cannes Film Festival. Lonzo Nzekwe is the director of the award winning movie, Anchor Baby, which starred Omoni Oboli, and Sam Sarpong. He is based in Canada, and works with FEVA TV. Udoka Oyeka's film, Living Funeral, is being screened in the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival. He was nominated for the AMVCA 2014 award for Best Director, for Living Funeral.

"ANCHOR BABY" GOES TO THE UNITED KINGDOM

Africa is popular for so many things, but one of the things that has driven Africa’s popularity in the western world in recent times is ‘Anchor Baby’, the movie by Lonzo Nzekwe that was described in the July – September edition of BBC Focus on Africa as ‘A movie with its roots in Africa that points to a bigger debate happening about the levels of immigration to the United States’.

After winning 7 international awards from 11 International film festivals around the globe, the award winning movie ‘Anchor Baby’ is yet to tire from winning awards as it recently was conferred with a Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International film festival.
