WAS MERCY RIGHT?

It is being reported that some months ago, Mercy Johnson slapped a make-up artiste and smashed her Blackberry during a film shoot. According to the report, the make-up artiste was recording a video of the actress on her Blackberry, while the actress was doing a romantic scene. The actress is reported to have slapped the make-up artiste, and smashed her phone, saying - "This is how it all begins, ... Before you know it they will start writing lies about me in the press"

Assuming the story is true, it raises several questions. Why was the make-up artiste recording a video of the actress anyway? What did she intend to do with the video she was recording? What if the video had gotten into the wrong hands? Was Mercy Johnson right to have slapped her? Should Mercy have smashed the Blackberry? What would you have done?

  11. Yes, Mercy is right but then she should'nt have slapped her. The smashing of the BB was enough. I don't blame her cuz she(Mercy) was pushed and besides, she's human and I could't have controlled her anger @ that point in time.

  12. She didn't ought 2 hv done such a fing, all she nid do dat time is 2 inquiry why she did such a mess. And moreover in d other hand, she was right 2 hv done such a fing cos she might hv lost her temper as at dat time. Obviously, not everybody is a cool hearted man. I didn't blam her dat much but d other lady.

    1. hey, its all abt mercy nw and nt our celebrities as u v jst mentiond. hv u heard abt d so calld Hollywood celebs, jst a quick reminder dat naomi campbell ddnt only slap her maid bt smashed her head wt her phone wen she threw it at her in anger... mercy ws right in all ramification. d pix ws taken without her consent and it is legally wrong even in Nigeria legal system being as porous as it is.

  16. Mercy shouldnt have smashed her BB. she should have collected it and wiped out everything in that phone both audio & Video. I dnt agree with the smashing of her phone but the slap is okay

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would have done same or even worst than she have done.she is very right to have done what she did,but anyways..... it was still going to be on air.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Mercy was right to slapped that bitch

    ReplyDelete
  19. There and then, I would have done the same.
It's not right but okay.... to be in a trusting position and taking advantage of all that for what could end up some where.. I hate to think of is very disconcerting.
The movie industry is moving at a very fast pace and twarts like these need to be put in place!

  20. The slap was a warning not to mess with her. The makeup artist obviously had intentions or else she wouldn't do it. How could the directors producers stand by and watch her do that and not stop her? I do not condone violence but sometimes it is necessary. Good for Mercy!!!!

  21. Mercy good job, why is she recording good 4 her, she will learn.

    ReplyDelete
  22. mer was right...shez also my favourite but d fact dat she is doesnt permit me to take a video of her romance scene. it shows ive smetin a mind...d make up artist could only take a pic of her nt a video of her romance scene..gosh dats deep.....

  23. If the story is true, then i don'think Mercy was right to have done what she did to the make-up artiste. There are other civilize way of dealing with incidence like this. Where were the directors when this took place; I think they were the ones to take care of this issue.

  24. Yes Yes Yes Yes a Million times Yes!

You have rightfully asked the right questions one would seek an answer to and Mercy had all the rights to react the way she did if this were true. maybe imagine the dame this could have caused suppose it was sent on the net with some fake information behind the scene?

Mercy do more slaps to those who try to go beyond their responsibility. SLAP SLAP SLAP

  26. She did the right thing by slapping and smashing the make up artist phone. As for me I will sue her damn ass because she has an evil interior motive, probably to make an x-rated movie with that.
The make up artist needs to be dismiss from the association, GBAM.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What she should ve done is to get d momery of d fun n make sure what d make- up artiste recordd is nt on fon memory as well.. Smashing d fon isnt d right tin to do bc if all i said early is nt done, then it's nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  28. d make-up artise is idiot. Good 4 mercy's action.

    ReplyDelete
  29. yEA mERCY WAS RIGHT, WHY WILL THE MAKE UP ARTIST RECORD HER, HER JOB TO MAKE HER UP AND NOT TO RECORD HER. THE MAKE UP ARTIST IS UP TO SOMETHING AND SHE GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Celebrities are humans too. What did the make-up artist want to achieve with the video? Blackmail or to do business with the press? I thought Nollywood had guidelines regarding who is present, and what can be done by the crew & casts when shooting? If not, the leadership should look into this to prevent future occurrences.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mercy Johnson and "the make-up artist" were wrong. The makeup artist shldn't have video MJ, MJ should have reported the makeup artist to the authority, then the authority can decide whether to confisticate the phone or not, and better-still not allow the usage of such media in the studio. MJ can get sued, and the recording company can get sued too.

  32. Mercy was right, what if the Lady was successful in getting the video out of the there and the particular scene she recorder was not in the film when the film was finally released ?? That will be a big mess on her personality and nobody will belief her story if the bad people decided to blackmail her with the video the make -up artist recorded. The lady should learn her lesson for the slap and the smashing of her BB.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Mercy good lady , now its glaring that you really want your marriage to succeed and i believe God will make your marriage a success. Smashing the BB and the slap is enough a signal to those who think they can use any means to rubbish one home , i wish you even charge her to court for assault and make her pay more for the embarrassment .

  37. Mercy was right to smash the makeup artist's blackberry. It should be mandatory that no one bring their phones on the set. I would not have slapped her. I would have asked the producers to stop shooting and demand that security remove the person from the set and confiscate her phone.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mercy u did well by slapin nd smashin her BB. D make-up artist really deserved wat she got nd dat wil put her in place.

    ReplyDelete
  66. 4 me i luk at in a different perspective, why must she b acting sexy part since she is married dat means dat part of d movie is bad 4 her 2 react like dat, pls dis is africa. 4 d issue on ground Mercy shuld learn how 2 report incident 2 d authorities next time cos is 4 her own gud. U wil neva b a murderer.

    ReplyDelete
  67. You can't totally blame Mercy 4 reating like dat Coz wit such video, a lot damage can b done bt I wld say she over reacted. Its already done so I'wld advice she apologize if she can.It won't kill her

    ReplyDelete
  68. Well,i think otherwise.i don't think it is right to slap another lady,it might be wrong to video her without her consent but slapping her and smashing her phone is far too harsh.she could have seized the phone and deleted the stuff.for a civilized person, she should be more civil, whatever the girl slapped her back, what a disgrace that would have been.the fact that she was married should have made her respect herself and decently corrected the situation without behaving like a local but exposed girl

    ReplyDelete
  69. She was so so right. she wants to use the video to blackmail Mercy so that our marriage would come crashing. God punish her. Mercy God will bless u n yr prayers would be answer in JESUS' name.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I understand Mercy's frustration, especially given the fact that the media people would want to twist issues to get a story that may end up tainting the artiste's name or even breaking her marriage....(sometimes I wonder if the media is a blessing or a curse :( ...) However, I feel that she should have handled it in a calmer way and even achieved a better result. someone suggested deleting everything on her phone, sending her out and perhaps if she wanted to take it to the extreme, she could have even insisted that the make-up artiste be fired or worse still sue her. Being physical with her offender was not necessary!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with you and Michelle. Slapping and smashing BB was not the best way to handle the situation. All she could have done was to collect the phone, get her fired from that set and also blacklist her to prevent her from getting a job on any movie set. That is a proper punishment for sum1 like that. As people said we don't know what she intended to do with the video. Plus the directors have to banned crews and extras from bring their fone to the set or at least prevent them from taking pictures or recording videos during the set. In Europe people arent allowed to take pictures and videos on the set. Shes right but she handled it in a very wrong way.
