HIGHLIGHTS OF AMAA 2012

The AMAA Awards has come and gone, but memories of it will linger. The award ceremony was held on Sunday (April 22, 2012). It was attended by guests from all over the world, including movie stars and film-makers from across Africa. Notable guests at the event included Uche Jombo, Rita Dominic, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Kunle Afolayan, Majid Michel, Juliet Ibrahim, Lydia Forson, Fathia Balogun, Funso Adeolu, Lancelot Imasuen,and Chinyere Wilfred. Morris Chestnut, Rockmond Dunbar, and Lynn Whitfield brought Hollywood glamour to the event. 


Nigerian music superstar, Tuface, ASA, and Senegalese singer Vivian provided music on the night. Star actress, Rita Dominic carted home the prestigious award for Best Actress in a Leading role. Ghanaian star, Majid Michel won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and he delivered an engaging and funny acceptance speech that had the crowd in stitches. Ivie Okujaye, winner of the Best Promising Actor award, delivered an emotional acceptance speech.
