Halima Abubakar Bounces Back

The past few years have not been easy for Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar. A couple of years back, she developed a mysterious ailment, which reduced her to a shadow of herself, and which forced her to withdraw from public life. The sickness was so serious, that in 2022, she announced that she was retiring from acting, for health reasons.

CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY: HALIMA ABUBAKAR

Hip Hip Hooray! Today (June 12) is the birthday of popular Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar. She is from Kogi State (Nigeria). She attended Bayero University, Kano, where she studied Sociology. She got her first role in a Nollywood movie in 2001. Some of her movies are Slip of Fate, Tears of a Child, Secret Shadows, Gangster Paradise, and Area Mama. In 2011, she won the award for Best Actress, at the Afro Hollywood Awards.
