Veteran filmmaker and TV producer, Amaka Igwe, has passed on at the age of 51. She passed on earlier today (April 29, 2014), after suffering an asthma attack, which proved to be fatal. This cruel news has been confirmed by Ibinabo Fiberesima, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
She directed the popular Nollywood classics, Violated, and Checkmate. She also created the hit Nigerian TV shows, Checkmate, and Fuji House of Commotion.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Igwe, and children. May her soul rest in peace.
