NONSO DIOBI IMPERSONATOR ATTEMPTS TO DUPE SOUTH AFRICAN LADY VIA TWITTER
An individual who has been impersonating Nollywood star, Nonso Diobi, on Twitter, has attempted to dupe a South African lady. The impostor, who uses the Twitter handle, @nonsodiobiworid, established contact with the lady on Twitter, and later began speaking to her over the phone. He asked the lady for financial assistance to help him pay for a heart operation for his mother. The scam was busted when the lady reached out to us via our Twitter handle, @nollywoodtweets, to confirm if he was genuine or not. We immediately let her know that he was a fraud.
This will not be the first time that the impostor has attempted to dupe unsuspecting individuals. In fact, he has succeeded in defrauding many, and he has even gone as far as to open an account in Nonso Diobi's name. He regularly asks people following him for money and recharge cards, and has been known to become abusive when refused.
Unfortunately, his Twitter handle is difficult to distinguish from that of the real Nonso Diobi, who is not active on Twitter, and who has fewer followers. The impostor has over 76,000 followers, while the real Nonso Diobi has just over 14,000 followers. As things stand, only Nonso Diobi (@nonsodiobiworld) or his management can report this impersonator, and we hope they do something about it soon.
