HAPPY BIRTHDAY RMD!
Nollywood superstar and veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo (a.k.a RMD) turns 51 today (July 6, 2012). He is from Delta State (Nigeria), and he is a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Benin. He first graced our screens in the 80s, when he featured in soap operas such as SPACS, Ripples, and Checkmate. Tall, dark, handsome, well-built, articulate, charismatic, talented, and impeccably groomed, it was impossible not to love him.
He featured in some of the most memorable early Nollywood movies, such as Violated, Keeping Faith, Diamond Ring, and Out of bounds. To the disapointment of many of his fans, he left acting for politics. Today, he is the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State (Nigeria). However, he will be making a return to movies, as he will featured in a film adaptation of a novel by Sefi Atta, which is being produced by Ego Boyo.
