BIMBO AKINSANYA - DISCHARGED AND ACQUITTED
Popular actress, Bimbo Akinsanya was last Monday (July 2) discharged and acquitted of an attempted murder charge brought against her by one Rev Pat Dennah of Divine Power Revival Ministry. The case was brought against her in 2011, by Rev. Pat Dennah, on the suspicion that the actress was behind an incident, during which she (Rev. Pat Dennah) was allegedly shot. Prior to the incident, the actress had complained to the police and the Landlord Association in her neighbourhood about noise pollution from Divine Power Revival Ministry.
Ruling in the case, the presiding magistrate, Mr. Olufemi Isaac, said that suspicion, no matter how serious, could not be a basis for bringing a case before a court of law. The actress has always maintained her innocence. In a 2011 interview, she claimed that the case was brought against her out of malice.
