"THE RETURN OF JENIFA" PREMIERES SEPT. 3

The premiere of the highly anticipated movie, The Return of Jenifa (TROJ), will at last take place in New York, on Saturday, September 3, 2011. The movie is produced by star actress and comic talent, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa. The Return of Jenifa features the character Jenifa, which Funke Akindele played in her runaway hit movies, Jenifa, and Jenifa 2. It is worth noting that the storyline of The Return of Jenifa is different from that of Jenifa and Jenifa 2 - it is not a continuation of the two earlier movies. Venue: Thalia Theatre, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street, New York

Since shooting began on The Return of Jenifa, it has been the subject of intense public interest. Fans have barely been able to conceal their excitement as they have waited impatiently for the announcement of a release date.The New York premiere of The Return of Jenifa is part of the programme of events, lined up for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards in New York, which runs from September 2 through September 4. Funke Akindele will also be co-hosting the awards, alongside Nigerian comic genius, Julius "Da Genius" Agwu.

Nigerian fans of Funke Akindele, will have to wait until September 23 to catch their first glimpse of The Return of Jenifa, when it premieres in Lagos. The Lagos premiere will take place at the popular MUSON Center. Funke Akindele has pulled out all stops in order to make The Return of Jenifa a total entertainment experience. Various celebrities from across the spectrum of Nigerian entertainment were drafted for cameo roles in the movie. Some of the celebrities who appear in the movie include, Eldee the Don (musician), Banky W (musician), Denrele Edun (TV presenter), Omawumi (musician), and Helen Paul (comedienne). Some of the actors, who appear in the movie, include Iyabo Ojo, Ireti Osayemi, and Yinka Quadri. Make sure you don't miss The Return of Jenifa whenever it comes to a cinema near you.

  2. hey i gotta say that i really love that lady that plays jenifa..although i dont understand her, i can relate to what she says when she expresses herself...she is soooooooooooo funny.
