UN-HABITAT PARTNERS NOLLYWOOD STARS

The United Nations Human Settlements Program  (UN Habitat) has partnered with several top Nollywood stars to form a group known as Nollywood for UN-Habitat, which will work to bring attention to issues of sustainable urbanization. The Nollywood stars who are part of this group are Patience Ozokwo (Mama G), Uche Jombo, Desmond Elliot, Monalisa Chinda, Francis Duru, and John Okafor (Mr. Ibu). The agreement to form the group was reached in a meeting held in Nairobi on Monday  (May 30, 2011). Already, the Nollywood stars have recorded a Public Service Announcement for the UN agency, which will be aired on DSTV. We congratulate the Nollywood stars on this recognition accorded to them, and we wish them the very best as they take on this new responsibility.
